Spotlight: Alaska Quilt Seminar Exclusive Tour

We are excited to announce that Holland America has created a special tour just for our Alaska CruiseTour Seminar at Sea! We’ll be doing a Mini Shop Hop in Juneau, Alaska!

Depart from the pier and drive to the Rain Tree Quilting (located outside of the main shopping district) with an hour to shop!

Next, visit and dine at Juneau’s original Salmon Bake! Enjoy an authentic grilled salmon feast with a variety of side dishes under a protected canopy along Salmon Creek.

Following lunch, transfer to Changing Tides, a quilt shop just a block away from the famous Red Dog Saloon!

Afterwards, you’re free to explore Juneau on your own!

Smiles for Quilters

I was writing biographies for our teachers, when suddenly I realized that nearly every name I had wrote something about laughter in their classrooms. Quilters, it seems, have a good sense of humor!

In that spirit, I wanted to pass along a few pieces of humor I found along the way. Does anyone have any other “funnies” they would like to share?

You know you are a quilter if…

There’s more fabric in the house than food
“Fat Quarters” are not the heaviest part of your body
Your ironing board is always set up but you never iron clothes
You think of your job as an interruption of your quilting time
You pet fabric
People are always picking threads off you
You can measure a scant 1/4 by eye
“Featherweight” doesn’t mean boxer
Your “UFO’s” are not from outer space
You clean up your sewing room & they think you are leaving

I don't think this person is really a quilter!

Trip Spotlight: All 2012!

Since we are hitting the ground running for 2012, I thought I would go over our line up! I’m looking forward to all our destinations this year, and I hope you are, too!

Panama Canal Quilt Seminar – February 6-17, 2012 Sold Out! We’ve received a few questions on this cruise lately, and wanted to let everyone know that we are indeed sold out. If you would like to travel to the Caribbean with us, please check out our 2013 Western Caribbean cruise. It is 7-days, but if you’re looking for something longer you can do a back-to-back and turn it into 14 fun-filled days!

Alaska Cruise Tour Quilt Seminar at Sea – June 6-17, 2012. There is a cruise-only option as well. We’re not ready to slap a “Last Chance” on this one quite yet, but classes are filling very quickly! Please don’t delay to make sure you get your spot on the ship! We’re sailing with Sue Nickels, Karen Combs, Kathy McNeil & Stevii Graves!

Baltic Quilt Seminar at Sea – July 31 – August 10, 2012 Or, as we affectionately call it: Vikings and Czars Quilt Seminar! We are so excited to be returning to the Baltic for the first time since 2008! We’re also looking forward to sailing on one of Holland America’s newest ships, the ms Eurodam. Mary Sorensen, Laura Wasilowski, Cindy Walter & Paula Nadelstern will be on board!

Soon we’ll be making our announcements for 2013, and we’re already looking at ’14! New Year’s Eve has never been as exciting since we started planning our departures years in advance!
